WHAT OTHERS SAY
- "The log is so wonderful. I love that I can track my sessions and that the app tells me how many days Ive gone in a row. Its an extra incentive to keep me practicing. Fantastic, simple, and great."
- "This is the best app I have found for meditation. One of the key elements in the effectiveness of meditation is to do it regularly for a certain duration every day. I meditate at home, while waking, and in the subway. This app helps me to keep a record of my daily meditation time very easily. Great job. Thank you. :-)"
- "I am an ordained monk, and quite frankly, your app rocks!" - Venerable Yao Ma
- "This is my favorite meditation app. The bells have very good sounds. Setting my own timers and intervals, if needed, is superb. The creators seem to listen to the users of the app & it shows. The daily reminders to meditate are a lifesaver for me on some days. I highly recommend this app to anyone wanting a nice customizable meditation timer."

Pros and cons of ZenFriend - Breathe & Meditate app for iPhone and iPad

ZenFriend - Breathe & Meditate app good for

I have started using this for my daily meditations and the stats feature and news feed are particularly motivating for me. Try it and hopefully you too will see value in this app. Many thanks to the developers, God Bless!
All functions are very practical. It would be nice if the basic can include three woodknock sounds.
Im a regular meditator and really just needed a good timer. With this app I also got the log which is a great help. It turns out I dont meditate as frequently as I think I do! This helps me stay on track in a day to day basis. My only minor complaint is that the icon image of the cartoon meditator is rather infantile and doesnt reflect either the worthiness of the app or of the meditation process itself IMHO.
This app offers a wide range of classes and ways to get started with meditation, and it doesnt try to make it too complicated. This app seems to be developed to help you develop a successful practice with out thinking to hard about it. The interface is simple yet mailable enough to fit it to your own style. After using it a while I can say that I love it!
While humble in functionality, ZenFriend delivers just what is needed for thoughtful execution of a beneficial meditation practice. Simple, clean and easy means it doesnt get in the way - but statistics and guided meditations give you the additional motivation sometimes required. I highly recommend.
This is a great app. Simple and clear. The timer works perfectly and the statistics give me extra motivation. I enjoy knowing that people around the world have been meditating at the same time as me. I have also enjoyed several of the free talks available through the app. It makes me happy to tap the icon for ZenFriend every morning.

Some bad moments

Terrible customer service. No response after 2 emails sent, as the premium package you pay for does not make a difference. The features dont work, and the guided meditations are very limited, usually with only on speaker, and all can be found for free on YouTube. I suggest getting the free ZenTimer. No extra costs. A huge list of guided meditations. And great features for free.
This app is not just a simple timer. Of note although it is technically free, you only get a free trial with all the services I actually enjoy for 7 days and then you are asked to make a donation. The app impressed me enough in the trial period to pay the 4.99. There are numerous sounds to choose from and you can set so many timers in between (so you give yourself time to get into your breath before following your theme of the day, know the halfway point, and know when you only have 1 minute left so you can come back to the breath...at least that is how I side it). After your done it shows you a beautiful random quote from different gurus of different views (yoga, Buddhist, Zen) and it makes me smile. You can save a note about your meditation and experience and (if you chose to) post it to the private program feed (or not). You can also view other people who have meditated and see if they wrote anything. I kind of like that. I emphasize that you dont have to partake in that part though. Overall, clearly I like it even though I was skeptical at first.
Does exactly what it says it would do. Helps you track meditation sessions and write notes after words. Great app.
Thanks for developing this app - I love it - I cant believe it but it really does help to get me to the cushion!
This app meets the needs I downloaded it for without overloading me with features I wont use...
Updated 2-20-15. This app is wonderful and the makers are so supportive, helpful, and appreciative. Early on I talked about 2 issues I was having with the app suddenly starting to crash when I used it and it having the current string of day Ive meditated vs my best going out of sync. They corrected this :) This is one of those "can I 10-star?" Ive gotten ZenFriend Beta to test out features in advance. It has gotten quite the makeover. Some of the new features and changes, such as "jump to after meditation" I love, while others, such as moving the "Save session" from the bottom of the screen to the upper right, I couldnt hate more. Ive gone into detailed discussion about this with Remo, the apps maker, who, I might mention, is awesome in just about every way. Basically, hes waiting for others to chime in if they also dont like the change. If people are asking for changes willy nilly, the app becomes unusable. We came to a comparison of Chrome and Firefox: Chrome has become like Apple in this one way, having "official apps" that dont interact with anything else, while Firefox is open-source. Firefox, however, does not have the smooth and amazing tab functions that Chrome has. Since that discussion, Ive redownloaded Firefox and am now using both in tandem. Im going to stay with my current version of ZenFriend for now. Until I see the Group Meditation stuff that Remo talked about making at some point, I dont see how I can benefit from further updates. I like the app as it is. No need to change it.
